Mikel Andrew Gronquist left this mortal life on February 25, 2024 surrounded by his devoted wife, children and other loved ones.
Mikel is survived by his wife of over ten years, Cathy; six children, Melanie (Jeff) Ivie, Mikel Hunter Gronquist, Mitchel Gronquist, Myles (Samantha) Gronquist, Morgan Gronquist and Caitlyn (Devin) Krisle; parents, Iva Lynch and Dennis Gronquist; sister, Denel Collins; brother, Mark (Dee) Hunt; seven grandchildren, Hailey Gronquist, Zackery Gronquist, Isabella Gronquist, Olivia Gronquist, Avery Ivie, Dutton Ivie and Shrader Mincey; numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and others.
Mikel Andrew Gronquist was born on March 30, 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Iva and Dennis Gronquist. He graduated from Bartlesville High School. Throughout his adult life, Mikel worked in various capacities maintaining HVAC systems and served as the Maintenance Director at Baptist Village Oklahoma City at the time of his passing. He loved God, family his fellow man and life itself. He and wife Cathy were strongly involved in caring for the homeless and less fortunate, various Veterans' groups and were avid dog lovers. They were dog parents to Abby, Ella, Beau, Maggie, Annie and Gabriel.
Mikel was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by those who barely knew him and those who knew him best. He had a generous heart, which was apparent in his actions toward all those who had the opportunity of meeting him. Mikel was always ready with his quick wit and dry sense of humor. He left a lasting impact on all those he met and he will be greatly missed.
